#3 Anniversary. 10 years ago today 2/18/2000

We have updated and added many new events to our racing season.  With 8 Nights of the Fair now being produced by High Road Promotions, we are X tremely excited to announce 5/8's racing during the FAIR!

One Fair event will be the 1st Annual Mark Galloway Invitational.  For those of you who may not remember, Mark worked with me at Speedway Chevrolet and was an integral fixture at Evergreen Speedway with the track, working tech and overseeing the first year of the Crate Engine Program.  Mark was taken from us in an accident but his spirit of competition and love of life will stay with us forever.  We are proud to host this event for the Mark Galloway Foundation and the family. Our goal is to set a Late Model Record Car Count for this event.  Please reserve your spot for this show.  We plan to fill the stands and pack the house.  Who wants to be the first to take home the CUP?

RULES FOR OPEN MOTOR COMPETITION FOLLOW THE FALL CLASSIC:  All rules for the Fall Classic apply to the Open Moters Races for the 2011 Season.   NASCAR SLM Whelen Weekly Racing Series DRIVERS score points awarded for the combo races  of  June 25th,  May 28th,  and August 28th. A race within a race.  Example.  If a weekly point racer finishes 4th, they still pick up first place points.  A driver finishing 10th overall, will pick up the same number of points as if they were not racing Open Motor Cars.

Facility / Upgrades / Super Figure 8 Tires / Rules

A big thank you once again to our staff and volunteers who battled the cold, the wind, the rain or otherwise a typical weather week!  All of the barrier walls are stripped, the bleachers, the stairs and the frontage to the track are ready for paint. The track sweepers / vacuums removed 4 loads of dirt, rocks and debris from the track today. With the brief weather break, we could have ran a tire test!

Work continues on the office to be open by March 1st.  The safety lights that are up will be enhanced next week by four more new Whelen's.  New light fixture areas will create a new look for the SF8 drivers with visibility coming from four sides and great presence coming through the intersections. Replacing the UKE tires will be better driving lines and plastic barriers. These easy to move barriers will be front end friendly while maintaining the integrity of the track dimensions.

Nu-Tread tires today made the commitment to produce tires for the 2011 season should we choose them to do so. Prices for the Nu-Tread would remain the same as 2010.   We continue to negotiate a New tire in the 80 dollar range.

As a reminder for 2011, the SF8 amendments were posted some time ago.  This is the complete rules should there be any questions.
