Late Model Shock Update
In an effort to streamline the confusion of last seasons shock rules, and this seasons attempt to utilize area track shock rules, we are implementing an immediate update. We are limiting the Pro Shock as the only Spec shock at Evergreen Speedway.
Cars not running the below “spec shock” must maintain total minimum weight of 2750 pounds.

Any competitor choosing to participate in and run the specified shock program as detailed below, is required to maintain the same 58% left side as all other competitors, but is allowed to reduce the total weight of the car from 2750lbs to 2650lbs.
Front Pro shock WB75, WB76, WB95, WB96 and Rear Pro Shock WB74, WB75, WB94, WB95 will be the “spec shocks” of Evergreen Speedway. Must run all (4) to qualify for weight break.
Spec Pro Shock competitors must maintain total minimum weight 2650 pounds
Weight break shall be reviewed after 4 races.
WVSO / Evergreen Speedway stamped PRO SHOCKS will be approved for use.
Pro shocks must remain sealed with serial number in tact as received. No modification of any kind permitted.

Rules are FINALLY ready!
Hi Racers!
Just a quick update before we drop the rules into the blog. First of all, thank you to so many people for your input, assistance and passion concerning the rules for 2011. We fielded over 600 emails, numerous calls, meetings, texts, tweets, and personal visits to get through the process. While it would have been easy to stay the course, or make no changes for 2011, that would have defeated our purpose to restore not only lines of communication, but also the chance for fresh ideas to be implemented. There are always going to be differences of opinion on rules, interpretations and questions about nearly any or all decisions. The fact is, that is not only understood, it is somewhat expected. Like the sides of a box, we can always find four sides of a story. With every class, every decision, every change, every tweek, comes the question of why?
Change is constant, as much as we all sometimes resist it. We listened very intently. Will everyone be happy with the new changes. Of course not. But most people have had issues with the present ones. The GREAT thing is, if something doesn't work, or there is a better way that wasn't instituted, it can or will be changed!
Our Goal from the very first meeting has been to be open, communicate and respond. What is happening at Evergreen Speedway is the start of a new era. I can't thank everyone enough for your interest and offerings to help restore our great track to the history and heritage we all love. Better times are in store for the area and the economy. Sometimes Perception does becomes Reality. Being positive and proactive will create better results, working hard and being productive will produce the desired outcome.

84 Days and Counting til Opening Night!
Hello Race Fans!
We are in High gear moving toward the opening date. This next 72 hours will see us finalizing the schedule, the rules and making some major announcements for the 2011 season. With many delays, the Holiday season, and someone getting married on New Years Day, we had envisioned having these steps in place before Christmas!
Our countdown to 2011 finds us hopefully moving into the race office by January 15th. Many projects are underway off the track, with work on the facility to commence later in the month. As the song says "we got a long way to go and a short time to get there"! Our banquet on January 22nd is coming together nicely. If for some reason you did not get an auto reply for the banquet, we do have everyone's information. We will start contacting everyone before the 15th to confirm your RSVP. At that time we will handle your tickets and payment.
To update the banquet, High Road Promotions will host the Championship Drivers and their guest along with former employees of Johnson Production. Class Champions have the option for a complimentary tux rental. Please send me your email information, if you would like to take advantage of this offer! doug@highroadpromotions.com

Many changes will be forthcoming related to marketing, advertising, lowering ticket prices,lowering back gate fees, special promotions, NASCAR, team/driver sponsor recognition nights at no charge, enhanced purse funds, travel bonus funds for out of area teams, earlier starting times, facility upgrades, and a general clean-up to name a few. Change is expected, and change will be noticed! We look forward to serving you in 2011!
